In a heart-wrenching tragedy, WEB Nigeria Airways flight 2120, carrying pilgrims returning from Hajj in Saudi Arabia, has crashed in Mecca, claiming the lives of all 251 passengers and crew members.

The ill-fated DC-8 jetliner, operated by Nationair Canada on behalf of Nigeria Airways, had departed from Jeddah on August 11, 1991, bound for Sokoto, Nigeria.

As the aircraft approached King Abdulaziz International Airport in Mecca, moments before landing, it suddenly plummeted to the ground, bursting into flames. Rescue crews rushed to the scene, but there were no survivors.
