Cody Thompson Returns to the Seattle Seahawks
Seahawks Receiver Returns After 3 Weeks on Practice Squad
Wide receiver Cody Thompson has returned to the Seattle Seahawks' 53-man roster after spending three weeks on the practice squad.
Thompson was initially signed to the Seahawks' practice squad in September 2021, but was released in August 2022. He was re-signed to the practice squad in September 2022 and was elevated to the active roster before the Seahawks' Week 3 game against the Atlanta Falcons.
Thompson's NFL Career
- Thompson played college football at the University of Cincinnati.
- He signed with the New Orleans Saints as an undrafted free agent in 2021.
- Thompson has appeared in four NFL games, including one start.
- He has recorded two receptions for 20 yards.
Thompson's return to the Seahawks' active roster will give the team some much-needed depth at the wide receiver position. The Seahawks have been hit hard by injuries at the position this season, with Tyler Lockett, DK Metcalf, and Dee Eskridge all missing time.
Thompson is expected to play a significant role in the Seahawks' offense going forward. He is a talented receiver who has shown flashes of potential.
