The local Buckhannon Police Department arrested a man last night on suspicion of home burglary. The burglary occurred on Hilltop Lane, and the suspect was apprehended a few blocks away with some belongings from the house. The suspect is currently in custody at the Upshur County Jail awaiting arraignment.

A local church, The Father's House, is hosting a food drive this coming Saturday, September 12th. Non-perishable foods can be dropped off at the church on Saturday between 10 am and 2 pm. All donations will go to the local soup kitchen.

Parents of Buckhannon Upshur High School students are invited to a meet-and-greet with the new principal, Mr. Smith. The meeting will be held in the school library on Thursday, September 14th, at 6 pm.
